South Lanarkshire Council Charitable Trusts

South Lanarkshire Charitable Trust comprises 50 charitable trusts funds/bequests established under previous local authorities. Each trust fund/bequest is restricted for the purpose it was set up.

The Wilson Christie Fund

Support is available for organisations benefiting foreign missionaries and older people in Edinburgh and the Lothians.

Motability Foundation - Wheelchair Sector Grant Programme

Aims to support charities and organisations to make an immediate impact for disabled people, by awarding funding to improve and expand their access to good quality affordable wheelchairs.

Motability Foundation - Community Transport Grants

Aims to help charities and organisations to make an immediate impact for disabled people, by awarding funding to develop, expand and improve community transport options.

Sylvia Aitken Charitable Trust

Funding is intended for organisations which are involved in initiatives that benefit children, young people, students or researchers. In particular the grant aims to aid the development of medical research and higher or further education.

The Pear Tree Fund for Music

The Fund supports the projects working to promote classical music, promote benefits of music to health and wellbeing, and increase the appreciation of music amongst children and young people. They also support musicians based in Scotland.

The trust continues to operate as one of the key funding bodies in Fife, awarding grants for community, environmental and heritage projects across the Kingdom to benefit the lives of those living close to landfill sites.

Mrs A A Clutterbuck's Charitable Trust

Grants are given to instutions to provide tangible benefits to such beneficiary groups as the trustees deem appropriate.

Talbot Crosbie Bequest

The Trust is treated as Common Good and is available for use, at the Council's discretion for the occupants of the former Burgh of Bearsden.
